Customer Reviews:

AHA! This one works. (UPDATE)4
These batteries obviously have many problems. This is actually the second one, that I have, that works. 2 out of 5 is totally ridiculous. This is also the first one purchased from amazon.com – no complaint there.
UPDATE: Well here it is – some months later and 2 more dead batteries. What a shame – a really great tool and really bad batteries. I’ve bought Makita for many years, but probably won’t again – MAKITA ARE YOU LISTENING???

Battery is a bummer1
I got two with my drill two years ago. First one lasted three months, second one 1.5 years with VERY LIGHT useage. Black & Decker I had lasted 5 years with heavy use. I don’t know if it’s the Makita charger or the batteries. I would not buy this product again. The drill is fabulous. The batteries are not.

Defective batteries1
I bought an impact driver set 2 1/2 years ago from Amazon. I like the tool for the moderate sporadic use I put it to, but the first battery died after 4 months. I had to drive 60 miles to factory service center to get a warranty replacement because the local service center wouldn’t honor the warranty because Makita does not compensate them for doing so. The 2nd battery died just out of warranty and now the first replacement battery has died. These batteries are clearly defective and Makita must know it. I can forgive a single unit that is defective with a 1 year warranty but these are so bad Makita deserves a class action lawsuit.
