In part 1, the parts are layed out, the movement is dis-assembled & run through an ultrasonic cleaner, and preparations are made for bushing work to begin

Part 2 – “Dr. Time” a/k/a Dave Dettmann begins the bushing process using solid “Bronze” bushings during the restoration of an 80 year old american mantle clock in an attempt bring it back to it’s original beauty. Dave has been repairing clocks like this for over 30 years, and in this major overhaul which he calls the “Presidential” repair, what was once a bunch of wood & metal parts sitting in a box for years becomes a fully restored part of american heritage.

Part 3 – “Dr. Time” a/k/a Dave Dettmann continues the restoration of an 80 year old american mantle clock in an attempt bring it back to it’s original beauty. Dave has been repairing clocks like this for over 30 years, and in this major overhaul which he calls the “Presidential” repair, what was once a bunch of wood & metal parts sitting in a box for years becomes a fully restored part of american heritage. In part 3, the bronze bushings are installed, broached, burnished & polished along with the rest of the brass parts, and then the parts are re-assembled so that the movement is ready for lubrication & test running.

Part 4 – “Dr. Time” a/k/a Dave Dettmann finishes the restoration of an 80 year old american mantle clock in an attempt bring it back to it’s original beauty. Dave has been repairing clocks like this for over 30 years, and in this major overhaul which he calls the “Presidential” repair, what was once a bunch of wood & metal parts sitting in a box for years becomes a fully restored part of american heritage. In part 4, the movement is test run & adjusted, then test run again. The broken case is re-assembled and all the accent pieces are cleaned, polished and re-attached, afterwhich the movement in installed, the dial baezel is polished and the hands are placed back on. Finally, the finished restoration is displayed.
