Its big, fast, stylish and makes great toast.5
Ok, it makes really fine toast. And it’s quick.

Its also nice looking … esp. if you have stainless appliances or some stainless handles in your kitchen already. The slanted design really makes this toaster an original. The slanted design seems to make putting toast in and taking it out easier, esp. for kids. Even the buttons are stylish … and I like how the outer toasting levers align with the inner levers. There are controls on either side and both sides can easily handle a bagel with ease.

There is a good feature to note. The middle push levers … one for each side. These inner levers are stylish, but have a meaningful purpose, which is to push the toast UP and OUT of the toaster (if needed, if you want to, you don’t need to) … I’ve never seen a toaster that could do that before! That really is a nice safety / convienience feature … esp. with smaller bread … it pushes it up for enough that you don’t reach into the toaster at all to retrieve the toast.

It’s a big boy … fairly wide for a toaster … but worth it because of the quality and speed of the toasting … and style/originality of the unit.

If I were to try and be more critical, I would say the size could be an issue for those with small kitchens or limited countertop space … and the slanted design of the unit can on rare occasion launch some lighter toast out of the unit.

But overall, I must give this 5 stars because it does toast and bagels extremely well (no burns yet) and its stylish and original. I would warn that it toasts on a very low setting, so start out with 2 or 3 … because its fast and powerful … a higher setting could burn, I would think.

What a toaster!5
I am not the type to gush about household appliances, especially a toaster. After all, the mandate in toaster production is quite simple, manufacture a machine that makes toast. Well, this initial naivete has been long since dispelled after the purchase of over a dozen toasters, none of which did the thing they are supposed to do – make toast.
All of that changed with the purchase of this toaster. What a well engineered piece of equipment that does perfectly what it is supposed to do – make toast. Don’t look any further, if you’re looking for a machine that does its job well, this is it.

Simply the best toaster I’ve ever used5
I’ve had lots of toasters over the years. This one, quite simply, is the best I’ve ever used. Bagels, English muffins, bread, PopTarts, whatever. It does a beautiful job toasting, getting the hot items out of the toaster is easy and SAFE, and the angle at which the toast comes out of the machine is very convenient. A great machine at a great price. You won’t be disappointed.

Nice looking, but does have annoyances3
I’ve had a few different black and decker under cabinet coffee pots over the years and they were overdue for an update on the overall look of the product. I give the basic design 5 stars in that, the look is more current and if you have had the older version, you do get more noticable increase of counter usability space with this model. On the other hand, there are some annoyances with this new version. (I’m keeping the coffee maker)

For the overall rating that I provided of 3 stars, here is why.

Installation Template… JOKE
Missing measurement legends so was not usable. I held the coffer maker up to the cabinet to determine where I wanted it to be installed, measured from a few places on the coffee pot and cabinet and used the hanging bracket of the coffee maker as the template (pencil through screw holes).

Installation Hardware… screws wrong size
This is a design problem in concept, while having a bag of a bunch of different sizes solves the problem, or in my case, a hacksaw solved the problem. The ultimate reason is that there is no gap between the end of the screw when installed and the coffee pot to slide on. In older models if the screw went into the nut and came out the otherside by a 1/4 of an inch it was fine. In this model the screw must not go much past being flush to the end of the nut…. which is nuts!

Water Reservior… nice idea, but has challenges
a) Since the reservoir has such a large surface area, providing an exact amount of water is not easy. When you set it on the counter and fill it, it doesn’t sit flat, etc, etc.
b) The top of the reservior is removable in order to clean it out. When you have the water around 10 cups, or more likely 12 cups, this lid doesn’t seal the water in very good for a short walk from the sink to the coffee maker. Not a big deal, not a lot of dripping, but you have to pay attention to it.

Sneak a cup… Twice now we have had coffee overflow out of the filter area. This was due to the sneak a cup braket not designed very well. When you put the coffee pot into the unit, it pushes on a little handle/arm… barely. This braket opens/closes a door on the bottom of the filter. If the coffee pot is slightly off being place in properly, plan on a nice clean up of coffee on the counter. I added a little bit of bulk to the face of the bracket and I think it will solve the problem.

Removing top bracket… Geez, one of the first steps in the installation is to remove the top mounting bracket/piece from the top of the coffee maker… OMG, my wife and I were playing tug-a-war to get that dumb thing off. This should NOT come pre-connected to the coffee maker.

Handling of Water reservior and Filter. Neither have a nice handle or way to grip them. The filter part is more awkward to hold than the resourvoir, but it should be looked at.

I know I listed several things, but from the things listed, I don’t think they are show-stoppers, I’ll be keeping the coffee maker.

Nice alternative to the SDC8505
I’m one of the reviewers of the SDC 850 that had a leaky pot. Thankfully, this one doesn’t leak and indeed uses the same holes as the SDC 850-I even kept the screws I had to hacksaw for the SDC 850 and used them on this one. Works well, doesn’t leak. Wish it had the stainless steel trim of course and also wish it were thermal like the SDC 850 because on my last two B&D ODC440B’s the warmer plate rusted out in a few months. If the warmer plate does not rust out this is indeed a viable alternative to the SDC 850. Hopefully B&D reads these.

Black & Decker SDC740B SpaceMaker 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Black I purchased this coffeemaker a month ago for my very small RV kitchen. Virtually no countertop at all. It has worked out wonderfully, giving me a full sized coffeemaker that eliminates the need for countertop space.
The only problem I’ve encountered is the “SNEAK-A-CUP” feature that enables you to get a cup of coffee before it has finished perking. The spring that activates this feature is too strong and pushes the pot back, causing water to overflow onto the countertop below. We eliminated that problem by removing the spring.

Love It!!5
I bought this Microwave to replace an older Sharp model. I have had very good luck with Sharp Microwaves and this new one is no different. It’s a very good compact microwave for one or two people. It was very easy to set the clock and use right out of the box. I love the look of it. The buttons are very simple to use. I don’t use my microwave for cooking that much, I use it mostly for reheating and defrosting. I am a single mom with one teenage son who never eats at the same time as I do so it comes in very handy. I do sometimes cook bacon and pototoes in it. It makes great baked potatoes. It you have more than two people in your family you might want to get a larger oven. I have been using Sharp microwaves for many, many years, they make a great product. I highly recommend this model and all Sharps for that matter.

Luxury features I never expected for this price, never5
Power-level settings of 100%, 90%, and right on down–I am amazed. I think the very-low settings are for drying food; can you imagine being able to do dried foods yourself? Then quick-buttons for nearly everything. It’ll take a while to learn all the features but even right out of the box it was just so easy to use! All I wanted was a small simple one that wouldn’t take much counterspace and never dreamed it would have all this, not for this price. My old microwave had just given out–after 23 years of daily use–and the one thing I wanted was defrost, that’s all. I’d always used the microwave, on defrost, to simmer foods that needs long, slow cooking–with no pot-watching and no chance of burning. You ought to try that! Much better than on the stove–and this does have defrost, of course of course–but so many other settings that will be even better for slow cooking. Then you can choose to defrost meat according to how much the chunk of meat actually weighs, of all things–there’s a setting for that too! Never heard of that! One more feature I especially wanted was for the light to go out when the door is open and here’s why: The way to make a microwave last simply forever is to leave the door open a while after each use and let it dry out. Then it will last for decades–like my old one did. But wouldn’t want to leave it open if the light stayed on, no; so another highly desirable feature right there. I just don’t think a better microwave could be bought at any price, period–many more features aren’t even listed here. The more expensive ones seem to only have features I’d never use anyway–a built-in toaster or something–so why pay for that! No, if it’s microwaving you’re after, this is just IT. Also, if you’re wondering about size, it says compact but holds a regular-size Pyrex loaf pan with room to spare as it turns, or a big mixing bowl with a pretty big hen or whatever in it, so that’s plenty big for most people. It’s the design–there are scooped-out places in the inner walls that allow space for the rim of a bowl or a pan to turn. That’s why it holds so much. And hey, it looks nice too–and is light enough that I can easily move it to clean under it yet it does feel as heavy and solid as can be. My hat is certainly off to the designers! (And as always, to Amazon! It got here in no time with Amazon’s free SuperSaver shipping–days before I was told it would arrive!) I don’t have a single negative to say after a week’s use and every day am still discovering yet more wonderful things about it that save a busy person’s time and energy–as well as money. Thought I’d let other shoppers know!

Good Compact Microwave4
We bought this microwave when our old one broke. We have limited counter space, so the size is perfect. We don’t often use the preset times for defrosting/reheating, as they don’t seem to work for the amount of food we put in (thus the reduction in stars). For the most part, we manually set the times and things heat/defrost great. The one preset we still want to try is the popcorn setting. Our old microwave consistently burnt our popcorn, so we’re looking hoping this one works better! We don’t use our microwave for cooking, just reheating, melting, defrosting and heating beverages.

Falls apart1
These screen doors are very poor quality. The velcro came off its tape backing after about a week. The doors do not fit tightly across the edges of the door. The weighting on the bottom of the screen is not heavy enough to keep the screen from blowing inside and wide open. Also – the screens DO NOT fit any size door. They only fit the 36 inch door, anything smaller, and you cannot attach the screen to the door frame without leaving bulges and gaps. I would not recommend this product unless you live somewhere where there is NEVER any wind or rain.

Easy install, looks nice and keeps the flies out. I’d give it 5 stars except the glue on the velcro gave out within an hour (this was after waiting the two hours as per instructions to hang the screen on the velcro) and I kept resticking it until I thought about just putting three nails thru the three velcro spots since I plan on keeping this, or a new one down the road when this wears out, on that doorway to minimize fly entry (we live in a rural area). I’m planning on ordering two more for my other entry doors. I had ordered something similar from another company a few years ago but it was very complicated with panels and such and never got fully put up-the intended doorway still has the frame that the stuff was supposed to be attached to sitting there-so I really appreciate the quickness and ease of install on this product! It has weights (marbles in the material) on the bottom as well to keep it hanging down and not blowing in the breeze. For cleaning dust I suggest using a shop vac with a brush on it while it is hanging.

Great solution for our needs4
$15 and about $2 in extra industrial strength velcro (which you’ll need because the stuff packed with this product is next to useless) is a great price for this item. It certainly beats spending $200+ we were looking at for a custom screen. It’s not as pretty, but it’s easily removable and is really only for the blazing hot days of summer.

Moonray lights – Cheap Solar post tops3
I purchased 35 of these. I would probably do so again because at 30% of the cost of the other Solar post top options its a good deal and when you multiply that by 35 its makes a big difference. Pros are the cost and they do look good. Cons are that they are all plastic and in the first month 20% of them have failed. I plan to not screw them in tightly untill I know which ones are bad and keep returning them untill I get a set of 35 that work well. I havent tested the return process yet and that will determine my final rating (0 stars to 3.5 or so).

Patio post light5
The product works very well as a marker light .It gives a nice soft glow for an LED . NOT USED FOR ILLUMINATION,but as a marker light only. Solar charger works well if in direct sun.

Good for the Price4
We bought 18 of these for all the posts on our new deck. Their light is not as bright as I was hoping for, but may be better in the summer when they receive more light during the day. I am returning 2 of these -1 that did not work straight out of the box, and one that isn’t waterproof and gets water in the lighting chamber and “fogs” up.

All in all, for the cost, I am really happy with them.
